The Town of Greenfield Seniors meet at the Community Center on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM. The Seniors are “On the Road Again” with a number of Town sponsored bus trips throughout the year. New Members Welcome always welcome. There are topics of interest for all. The Town of Greenfield Meal Site is located at the Community Center, 25 Wilton Road. Call 893-7644 for reservations. Free bus transportation for medical & legal appointments is available. For a reservation please call 884-4100.
The Town of Greenfield sponsors trips for Senior Residents and provides the coaches. When available seating will be offered to members of other Senior Groups (who are not Town residents) & other folks residing outside the Town. Payment should be made a month in advance of the date of the trip unless otherwise stated. If you find you cannot go after signing up please notify the trip coordinator, in case there is a standby list. ALL PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO GREENFIELD SENIORS.
Thursday, March 14th, 2013 - St. Patrick's Day Festival - Depart from Greenfield Community Center at 7:30 AM. Arrive at Platzl Brauhaus, Pomona, NY at 11:00 AM - Coffee, Tea, Scones and Homemade Donuts. Dinner at Noon - Hearty Barley Soup, Tossed Garden Salad, Irish Soda Bread. Choice of entree: Corned Beef and Cabbage, Roasted Half Chicken or Poached Tilapia Filet. Bangers and Mashed, Vegetable & Desert. Complimentary Wine with Dinner. Beer and Soda service noon til 5 PM. At 4:00 PM - Standing Steamship roast from the Carving Station. Live Music and Dancing. Depart for home at 5:00 PM with estimated arrival back at the Greenfield Community Center at 8:30 PM. Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 - Medieval Times Dinner Theater, Lyndhurse, NJ - Depart from Greenfield Community Center at 7:00 AM. Arrive at theater at 10:30 AM. Lunch and show start at 11:00 AM. Expect almost two hours of jousting, swordsmanship, thrilling hand to hand combat, displays of extraordinary horsemanship and falconry as part of an exciting yet touching story set in Medieval Spain. Feast on garlic bread, soup, roasted chicken, spare rib, herb based potatoes, pastry of the Castle coffee and two rounds of select beverages. (Persons with respiratory conditions, allergies or asthma should attend at your own risk. Medieval times use stroboscopic and pyrotechnic effects. Depart for home at 1:30 PM with estimated arrival back at the Community Center 4:00-4:30 PM. Cost $42.00
Wednesday, July 24th, 2013 - Cooperstown for a Glimmer Glass Boat Ride. This is a double decker boat with an 18 minute panoramic narrated ride. Lunch will be served at the Otsaga Resort Hotel and we will go to the Farmers Museum as well. The bus leaves the Community Center at 7:45 AM and returns at approximately 6:30 PM. Cost - $55.00
Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 - Aqua Turf located in Plantsville, CT - Depart from Greenfield Community Center at 7:30 AM. Arrive at Aqua Turf at 11:00 AM. Dave Colucci Variety Show - Swing to Country and everyting in between. Luncheon is served family style - includes Soup, Pasta, Chicken Kathryn, Baked Ham, Vegetable, Potato, Dessert. Depart for home at 3:30 PM with estimated arrival back at the Community Center 6:30 PM. Cost - $42.00
Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 - Lake George Steamboat Cruise on the Lac Du St. Sacrament. Luncheon will be served. Bus leaves the Community Center at 10 AM and returns at 4 PM. Cost - $32.00
Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 - Pulaski, NY - Depart from Greenfield Community Center at 7:00 AM. Arrive at Brandy's Sunrise Restaurant where lunch will be served. Please choose entree when signing up: Haddock Sandwich with Franch Fries; Hot Turkey with Mashed Potatoes; Hot Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes; 1/2 Grilled Rueben with Cup of Soup; Chicken & Biscuit w/vegetable & mashed potatoes. Coffee or Tea, Apple Crisp with ice cream for dessert. At 1:30 arrive at the Salmon River Hatchery. See what happens inside a working fish hatchery with a self-guided tour of the facility, which includes information exhibits and mounted fish. Depart for home at 3:00 PM with estimated arrival back at the Community Center 7:00 PM. Cost - $19.00
Tuesday, November 12th, 2013 - New York City - Depart from the Greenfield Community Center at 8:00 AM. Stop enroute on the Thruway for lunch on your own. Arrive at Radio City Music Hall at 1:00 PM for the Radio City Chirstmas Spectacular which starts at 2:00 PM. At 4:00 PM Board the Bus and travel to the Pegasus Restaurant at approximately 6:30 PM. Upon arrival Relish plates and assorted cheese and crackers. Caesar Salad, New England Clam Chowder. Dinner will be served as a buffet and will include: Penne with Tomato Sherry Cream Sause, Roast Turkey with Stuffing, Roast Poik Loin with cranberry glaze and oven roasted red potatoes. Fresh baked assorted rolls and choice of vegetable, Apple Pie ala mode for dessert. Depart for home at 8:00 PM with estimated arrival back at the Community Center at 9:00 PM Cost -
