The supervisor is the town’s chief executive officer. As chairman of the board, he presides over all Town Board meetings and determines the agenda of the meetings. The supervisor leads the five-person town board.
The supervisor is also the chief fiscal officer and is responsible for maintaining the town’s fiscal health and is the administrator of all town departments. He provides all departments with daily direction on the implementation of town law, policies and rules. The supervisor responds daily to the needs of our residents and represents the town in all of its dealings with Saratoga County, the State of New York and federal agencies. Supervisor Veitch currently serves on multiple committees at the county level including: Legislative & Gov’t Affairs, Public Safety, Economic Development, Cornell Cooperative Extension, County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board, Soil & Water Conservation, and the Intercounty Committee of the Adirondacks.
The supervisor and the town councilmen work together to propose legislation and make policy decisions that affect residents. They set short-and long-term goals of the town.
