Dog Control
- All dogs must be accompanied by and under the immediate supervision and full control of the owner or other responsible person.
- Dogs must be on leashes at all Town Parks. Dogs are not permitted at Brookhaven Park. Tickets will be issued.
- Read the full Town of Greenfield Dog Ordinance.

All dogs that are picked up by the Dog Control Officer are taken to:

(518) 885-4113 - In order to redeem a dog from the shelter, you must have proof of a current license. If the dog is unlicensed, it must be licensed at Town Hall before you pick the dog up.
Dog Licensing
Per the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law, ALL dogs four months of age or older MUST be licensed in the municipality in which they are harbored. Every dog owned or harbored in New York State for longer than 30 days must be licensed.

Renew your dog license online!
Click the button below to renew you dog license online using QUICKPAY . Once there you will be able to look up your dog license by license number, dog name, or owner name. You will not be able to renew online if the rabies has expired or if it is more than one year late.
Nuisance Wildlife Complaints
The Dog control officer does not handle nuisance wildlife complaints. These inquiries should be directed to a pest control service specializing in nuisance wildlife removal. The NYS DEC website has a list of nuisance wildlife contacts by county here.
