Want to help our local Food Pantry? We have some needs this fall as we approach the holidays. If you’d like to help consider purchasing:
- Snacks (popcorn, pretzels, crackers, chips)
Personal hygiene products (deodorant, feminine hygiene, adult diapers, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, etc.) - Laundry detergent
- Foil, plastic wrap, Ziplock bags of different sizes.
- GIFT CERTIFICATES for grocery stores, BJs, etc. for us to purchase our needs.
- We always can use your recycled paper shopping bags for our shoppers to bring home their food.
Every Wednesday, our Food Pantry opens its doors at the Community Center (25 Wilton Rd.) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. It is open to all, with no questions asked. The Food Pantry is managed by St. Joseph’s Church of Greenfield. It started in the 1980s and would provide food to about 20 residents a month. Today, we often see as many as 120 families! We provide fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, milk and non-perishable goods including laundry and personal products.
WE APPRECIATE YOUR DONATIONS, monetary and food and other products. It is how we purchase food from the Regional Food Bank at low cost. Donations can be left at the table in the Community Center or sent to the Food Pantry c/o Town Hall, P.O. Box 10, Greenfield Center, NY 12833.
ARE YOU GOOD WITH PAPERWORK AND FUNDRAISING? We are looking for people to help manage the pantry, staff the pantry and help with fundraising.
To get involved contact Heidi Lampert (the head of operations) at 518-322-6999 or Patty Schwartzbeck at 518-893-7074.
