Barbara Campbell, of Hadley, N.Y., has the exquisite ability to take bits and pieces of broken vintage jewelry and turn them into works of art. She sells her designs weekly at the Greenfield Farmers Market and has as shop at her home in Hadley, at 79 Yates Hill Rd, that is open weekends only.
She has set up her tent at Greenfield’s market since it started more than 15 years ago and sells what she describes as “an eclectic mix of old and new jewelry” including bracelets, necklaces, earrings and more. She carries some vintage estate items too.
“I enjoy making fun pieces by mixing the old and the new and I reuse and repurpose everything I can,” Campbell said. “Otherwise these things would be thrown away.”
Campbell has been making jewelry of this kind since 1990. She said she finds the Greenfield Farmers Market to be very special and she is super excited about the changes that have been taking place this year.
“I love the addition of so many great food vendors, the central location and easy parking,” she said. “The closeness of the people that live here is so nice.”
