The supervisor is the town’s chief executive officer. As chairman of the board, he presides over all Town Board meetings and determines the agenda of the meetings. The supervisor leads the five-person town board.

The supervisor is also the chief fiscal officer and is responsible for maintaining the town’s fiscal health and is the administrator of all town departments. He provides all departments with daily direction on the implementation of town law, policies and rules. The supervisor responds daily to the needs of our residents and represents the town in all of its dealings with Saratoga County, the State of New York and federal agencies.

Our supervisor is extremely busy at the County level. He is a member of the Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board, Cornell Cooperative Extension Board, InterCounty Legislative Association of the Adirondacks, and the Long Range Capital Planning Committee. Veitch also has been appointed to many committees of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors. He has been named Chair of the Public Works committee and is a member the Airport, Buildings & Grounds and Law & Finance committees.

The supervisor and the town councilmen work together to propose legislation and make policy decisions that affect residents. They set short-and long-term goals of the town.
